[Abstract] In the history of Chinese modern literature, that "May 4th" writers adored Buddhism was a general and special culture phenomenon. It not only had deeply social?historic? political?cultural and literary reasons, but also was related to the disintegration of traditional values. Buddhism made them participate in social affairs while not forgot to escape from the world. Buddhism also produced positive influence on their characters and cultural creations.
