This article has made a comprehensive survey on the specific portrait of Khakkara:a monk’s staff,partly of metal,with metal rings for shaking to announce one’s presence and expel demons,from the Dunhuang Mural,and based on this basic data,this article has also made a comparative study to the image of Khakkara which are found not only on a painting on silk or on stone but on the works of bronzes as well and even has made a comparative study with the scepter in exist unearthed from Famen Temple and combining the description of Khakkara from Buddhist Scriptures,this article made a careful study of it in perspectives of its plastic image,technical production,function and the relationship with the Crosier,shaker of the rings on the metal staff.
