The Tang and Song Dynasties marked an important period of the development of Chinese catalogues of Buddhist scriptures, featuring a rich variety of such books.Although many of these catalogues in the said dynasties have been lost, there are still clues that can be found regarding the lost catalogues in the existing documentation. From the bibliographical works of past dynasties and historical stories of Buddhism, our research findings include nineteen kinds of lost Buddhist scripture catalogues,of which fourteen are prepared in the Tang and five in the Song. The research also covers the authorship , time of writing , and the main contents of the catalogues.
