The foundation and development of Chinese Buddhist inwardness theory was really influenced by the Confucianism, Taoism and metaphysics to some extent and this influence became more and more intrinsic and unnoticeable in the following years. But, in fact, it was the Indian Buddhism that played the decisive role while the Confucianism, Taoism and metaphysics just served as the pre-understanding and the historical roles. This fully integration made Chinese Buddhism the unique system compared to the other ideologies.
