The style of Zen master Mar-zuh- dau- yii Mar-zuh-Dau-yii (A.D.709-788) was a famous zen master in Chinese Buddhism history. He abounded of creation, and gave a good basement for Chinese zen sect. When he was 24 years old, always meaditated whole day long, at south mountain he met his guru-Stone si-chen, Stone guru asked him: 「Why do you meditate?」 Mar-zuh answered: 「I want to be a Buddha.」 So, Guru Stone picked a piece of brick ground on the stone. Dau-yii asked him: 「What are you doing?」 Stone answered: 「To make a mirrow.」 This made Dau-yii laught. Stone said: 「Do you feel ridiculous? that's the same for you. How can you be a Buddha just by meditation?」 This question stung Dau-yii deeply, finally he realized and get enlightment. The most important teaching of Dau-yii is: 「The mind is Buddha.」「No mind, no Buddha.」「Non mind, Non Buddha, Non it.」
