Church history tells us that in a pluralistic world, Christian theology can be enriched and fertilized by other religious theories, and Buddhist philosophy is certainly one of them. Although many Buddhist-Christian dialogues are held nowadays, it is found that Buddhist philosophy is difficult to understand, especially the non-obstruction between particular-and-particular of the Hua-yen School. Paul Tillich, a famous Protestant theologian, also found it hard to grasp the meaning of "I am a flower" proposed by the Japanese Zen master Hisamatsu Shin'ichi. This paper attempts to explain the possibility of the philosophy of the Hua-yen. School in a logical and linguistic manner. The author suggests that by using the concept of the dependently co-arisen, it will be easier for Christian theologians to learn this mysterious doctrine of Buddhism.
