摘要 | Mediterranean skepticism and madhyamika buddhism share a number of properties that make their use in casting light on one another especially interesting. what i propose to do is to use the light thrown by skepticism to illuminate an especially troubling passage in the madhymika texts. what i hope to do is to discover what these buddhists mean when they say,"between samsara (suffering) and nirvana (liberation) there is not the slightest shade of difference." our operating assumption will be that whenever two philosophic views have many things in common, they are very likely to have many more things in common. |
