摘要
This is a thick book of 456 pages. It deals with the development of Buddhist and Vedantic idealism and their comparisons in the light of western idealism as a philosophy of reality and value. It shows that for idealism reality is transcendental and is the same as value. For its law, reality, existence, self, and value are,on ultimate analysis, the same, and for a true philosophy, which is to be a guide to man's life, have to be the same. In spite of the great controversies between Buddhism and the Vedanta, the drive of the thought of both is towards the same goal. It is the first work that articulates the structure of Buddhist and Vedantic thought. It is reviewed as a great book. It is available in German translation also (Maisenheim am Glen,Verlag Anton Hain,1969).
