摘要 | This work presents a critical discussion of various philosophical topics of indian origin, with special emphasis on topics in buddhism and vedanta. the approach is predominantly analytical, although the reflective treatment presented here is not exclusively confined to what may be regarded as 'hardcore' analytic philosophy. where, however, the author seems to have gone beyond the strict purview of the 'hardcore' analytic philosophy by betraying a sort of involvement in 'ideas or ideology',such as what the author designates as 'common-ism' or by indicating certain guidelines for assessing realms of values, the method adopted is analytic and critical, not only in a broad sense but in the sense appropriate to reflections in these spheres. further, while assessing critically the specific nature of the contributions of various types of 'analytic' philosophy or of 'encyclopedic' philosophy, the author has made persistent efforts in this volume at 'free' thinking, free 'not from rigours of logic',of course, but from deceptive images and imageries. the monograph is expected to stimulate the reader to untrammeled philosophic enquiries. |
