摘要 | Santideva in the 'Bodhicaryavatara' or 'Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life' describes attentiveness as an important element in Buddhist spiritual practice. Attentiveness is used to guard the mind,to be aware of one's thoughts and actions and to determine whether one's practice is on the right course or not. Excessive attachment to the body can be a source of problems. According to Santideva, the body should be regarded simply as a vehicle to be used for spiritual growth. Training the mind is the most important practice,as a positive mind will also promote positive actions. |
