This is a translation of Nishida Kitaro，"logic of place of nothingness and the religious worldview" (1945)，and one other shorter piece，both illustrative of Nishida's systematic reconstruction of philosophical and religious ideas under the influence of Buddhism. The translator's long introduction discusses the relation between Nishida and Kant; an appendix clarifies his "logic of the east."
