摘要 | The Japanese philosopher Nishitani Keiji has offered an account of nihilism, and of Nietzsche's engagement with the problem in particular, that gains from his hermeneutic distance from the Western tradition and his Zen Buddhist perspective. According to Nishitani's reading of Nietzsche:if the depths of the self are plumbed as far as the "nihilum",or void, that underlies it,that void will eventually transform itself into a "creative nothingness" that is akin to the "emptiness" that is central to Mahayana Buddhist thought. The multiple genealogy of Nishitani's thinking lets it rank among the most formidable of modern philosophies. |
