摘要
Huafan College of Humanities and technology acts upon the motto of "Education through enlightenment" advocated by the Ven. Hiu-wan. The school also follows the goal of "Integration of technology and the humanities" and "mutual promotion of kindness and wisdom." Kindness and wisdom form the contents of the humanities. Integration means not to separate the humanities from technology. It means to bring them together into a whole. Therefore，the departments of the college of engineering should consider the humanities the essence of academic studies while technology is put into practice. The departments of the college of liberal arts should possess the quality of the humanities. Besides, they should apply the technological spirit to academic research in order to embody kindness and wisdom as well as to promote the great value and virtue of life. In other words, the humanities should be of technology and technology should be humanized.
In order to carry out the goal of integration of technology and the humanities, and to fulfil the motto of education through enlightenments, Huafan College of Humanities and Technology establishes a research group to give overall consideration to the project of implementation. School departments are asked to propound implemental designs of curricula, academic researches, space for exercise，and student guidance. Prof. Syauyu，Chang is the convener of the general courses. The academic dean，Prof. Ching-jau，Liao，is in charge of the academic researches. Office of the dean of students, the humanities educational center，and the personnel office are responsible for school activities. Office of the dean of students takes care of student guidance. By February of this year，the research group had proposed its plans of implementation and all the schemes had been resolved by certain statutory process. From now on，under the supervision of the school，each responsible unit will carry out the resolutions precisely. And by constant improvement，the school will reach the goal of integration of technology and the humanities in the near future.
