Padmasambhava, the Lotus Born Master of Orgyen, the Tantrik Buddha of our eon, is about to depart for a land of Cannibals in the South Western direction after having firmly established Buddha's doctrine in the mind-stream of the Tibetan people and in their soil. The period is around 800 AD. The enlightened queen Yeshe Tsogyal, and Prince Mutri along with five other Tibetan Bodhisattvas delay the Master's rainbow like departure by each of them asking him for one last piece of advice. Each of Orgyen Rinpoche's answers constitutes a chapter. Through the medium of poetic verse each disciple's doubt is removed and they are empowered to perpetuate the teachings of the Great Perfection that is free from extremes and mentally contrived entities. This text was unearthed more than 800 years ago and remains widely read, memorized and quoted in all Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
