The transformation of traditional Buddhism into the modern one is the key issue in the development of Buddhism in modern China. Of modern significance, namely, of ration and humanism, human Buddhism has become the navigation mark of Buddhism development in China through tremendous efforts of lay Buddhists and Masters (a title of respect for Buddhists or Taoist priests), such as Yang Wenhui, Tai Xu, Yin Shun, Zhao Puchu, etc. Then, how does the transformation fulfil? Admittedly, many things accounted for its occurrence, yet the religious policy——education initiation with Temple property——implemented by the government of late Qing Dynasty, is the direct driving force, which reflects, from another point of view, the relationship between politics and religion and its continuity in China at that time.
