Buddhism contributes to Chinese filial piety in three aspects, which are classical sutra, opinion and method. Yulanpen Jing, Dizang Pusa Benyuan Jing and Fumu Enzhong Nanbao Jing are all classics on filial piety. For a Chinese Buddhist, to persuade family members or relatives to convert to Buddhism, to be a monk, and to be kind are all forms of filial piety. Though there is a huge difference between Confucianism and Buddhism regarding what to do to be filial, the difference is but a great supplement to the native Chinese filial piety thought.
