A Pāli text, Cariyāpi?aka, which is belonged to the Khuddaka Nikāya of the Pāli Canon is introducted here. Similar to the Jātaka, the text is composed in verses. The descriptions, however, between the Jātaka and Cariyāpi?aka are not quite the same. The present paper is divided into three parts. The first part is a brief introduction to the Cariyāpi?aka, which consists of seven Pāramitā in three chapter (vagga), as well as the secondary materials. The second part is the Chinese translation for the Perfection of Giving (dāna-pāramitā) chapter, which consists of ten stories. The last part concluded the purpose of the redactor(s) is trying to shape the Buddha’s birth stories under the structure of various Pāramitās. Through the completion of the Pāramitās, the Buddha attained the Buddhahood eventually.
