論雲居寺漢譯《寶德藏經》的翻譯底本問題 ── 以第一品為討論中心=On the Original of the Chinese Translation of the Ratnagunasamcayagatha Kept in the Yunju Monastery: A Discussion focused on the First Chapter
Luozhao has published an article on the bilingual Tibetan and Chinese translations of the Ratnagu?asaṃcayagāthā kept in the Yunju Monastery. He claimed that this version was the first Tangut text, of which translations were directly rendered from Sanskrit. Since Luozhao published only the Chinese and not the Tibetan translation of the Yunju version, one is left with just the possibility of looking into its Chinese translation in order to find out whether his claim is true or not. By comparing the Chinese translation of the Yunju version with the Sanskrit and Tibetan editions of the Ratnagu? asaṃcayagāthā including those kept in the Chinese and Tibetan Canons, that is two Sanskrit recensions A and B, their corresponding Tibetan translations, and one Chinese translation, the present article comes to the conclusion that the Chinese portion of the Yunju version is translated from Tibetan. And the Tibetan portion stands very close to Sanskrit recension B kept in the Tibetan Canon.
