There are four Early Sui Dynasty Buddhist sutra inscriptions written by Song Shao(or Song Shaoyan) in Dunhuang manuscripts, which are respectively collected in China,Japan, and Britain. These inscriptions provide abundant academic information for studying matters such as the Song clan in Dunhuang, the official system, funeral customs of qi-qi-zhai(seven-seven feasts),and the situation of the northwest regions in the Zhou and Sui dynasties.
