The An Shi Rebellion promoted the popularization of the literature during the Middle Tang Dynasty. In January, Zhenyuan 18th year, the King of Biaoguo came to Changan to offer pieces of music, the texts of which were all from the interpretation of Buddhist theory, driving the popular interpretation of Buddist scriptures and the temple chanting in sanskrit and promoting the descending process of the occurance of Quci from the palace to the masses.
