汾陽善昭=Fen Yang Shan Zhao; 文字禪=Script Zen; 臨濟宗=Lin-Ji-Zong
摘要
善昭是省念的法子,為北宋臨濟宗第三世得法宗匠,大力提倡「文字禪」新禪風,臨濟宗門傳禪,至此,又達致一個熱烈盛極的新高峰。現代關於善昭之研究,成果頗多,然能立基於較完備之善昭文獻,對善昭生平、思想進行較客觀之分析、探究,這方面的努力,還頗不足夠。本文先對善昭文獻進行探究,共獲得較完備之古今善昭文獻共28 種,包括:2 種「一手文獻」、26種「後代禪典燈史」。以此為基,對他們進行較客觀的文獻分析工作,這樣做,希望能獲得關於善昭生平、思想,較為完備、客觀之理解與掌握。 Shan Zhao is an apprentice of Xing Nian and the third inherited master of Lin-Ji-Zong in the North Song Dynasty. With Shan Zhao’s devotion to the “Script Zen” paradigm, Lin-Ji-Zong Zen reached a new apex. Although there are many studies on Shan Zhao today, scholars and researchers may still find that these studies are not enough and complete, especially in the aspect of objective analysis. In this paper, I fi rstly explored Shan Zhao’s literature and then acquired a more complete database including twenty-eight items of Shan Zhao’s literature. The database is composed of two ‘primary literature’ and twenty-six ‘post Zen Canon Deng History’. On such basis, the lifespan and ideology of Shan Zhao were examined with a view to achieving a better understanding of Shan Zhoa’s life, Zen thought, and pedagogical approach.
