In November 2007,a collaborative survey was conducted to gather information of the cliff Buddhist sculpture on eastern riverside of Fu River in Mianyang City,Sichuan Province. There are twenty five niches on the cliff, the carvings include Amitabha and fifty-two Bodhisattvas,Diamond Sutra(Kumarajiva’s trans- lation),and so forth.Style of some sculptures looks like the Chang’an Style of Early Tang.So these sculp- tures should be carved in the Zhenguan reign(A.D.627~649)by the family Linghu. In the nineteenth niche, the Amitabha and fifty-two Bodhisattvas reveal some Indian and western regions’ characteristics, just like the Early Tang mural paintings in Horyuji Temple of Japan. So the sculptures provide new information to study of early Tang Buddhist art,and Buddhist cultural exchanging between east and west.
