This paper analyses the structure and content of the painting unearthed from the Buddha Fresco Tomb of Kao-kou-Li in Changchuan, Jian. By buddha archaeology method, the author comes to some conclusions: The tomb may be dated to 400-430AD, and its painting was finished in 427AD, before the capital was moved to Pyongyang(平壤). The painting mentioned above may be one of the earliest buddha fresco in China. It was somewhat later than No.169 Cave Painting of Bingling Temple(炳靈寺) and earlier than the original Dunhuang(敦煌) Frescoes.
