In this article,the author has provided a detailed introduction to the depiction of two Buddhas,namely ?ākyamuni and Prabhūtaratna,sitting together in Dunhuang art from the Northern Dynasties to the Sui dynasty,in terms of composition and artistic style.On this basis,the author discusses several major types of two Buddhas sitting together on a throne,in combination with subject matter from other sūtras.
