In September 7,2007,a stone image of Buddha inscribed with the 7th Year of Tianbao(date of the Northern Qi Dynasty) were unearthed at Pingyuan County Dezhou Shandong Province.The motif of the presentations on the left facade of the pedestal of this Buddha’ image were identified to be the excursions of the adolescent Gautama.Based on a comparative study of the relevant themes found in Gandhara and the Chinese Centre Plains,this article considers that this picture should be the theme of Maitreya Vyakarana.
