This article studies types of monastic robe wearing by monastic donor in Dunhuang Murals and other relics and lays emphasis on the style that changes taken place on different times based on iconographic searching and historic records. Along with introduce Buddhism into China, different Buddhist schools come along and accepted by different ethnic groups, thus there were different feature of monastic robe showing as times come by. In Dunhuang Murals, there were evident of variant monastic robe in different times. The type of monastic robe of donors are changed and mixed with Chinese monastic element showing not only much differences from original Indian monastic system but Chinese Buddhist stance towards monastic robe.
