Documents discovered in the Khara-Khoto area came from many cultures and were in Tangut,Chinese,Tibetan,Uighur,Mongolian,Turkic,and Syriac languages.This indicates that there were many people such as the Tanguts,Chinese,Tibetans,Uighurs,Mongols,Hui people,Jurchens,and Khitans as well as tradesmen and preachers from Arabia and India,who lived there on agriculture,trade,or animal husbandry.In the period of the Western Xia and Yuan dynasties,Tibetan and Chinese Buddhism were transmitted among Khara-Khoto peoples.Some Tibetan Buddhist documents even had Uighur or Mongolian phonetic notations.Cultural documents of the Liao Dynasty were also found there.All these documents exemplify the harmonious multiracial relationships prevalent in ancient Khara-Khoto.
