This paper approaches Sogdian's activities in Qiuci in the 7th and 8th century from Sogdian names in Chinese and Qiuci documents unearthed from Kucha. According to these documents, there lived numbers of Sogdian Buddhists in Qiuci at that time, of whom some even occupied crucial positions in charge of temple management and some worked for both Tang Dynasty and Qiuci government. They also maintained close ties with other Buddhists in Qiuci. All these suggest a tendency of fusion among Hu, Han and other ethnic groups in Anxi of Tang Dynasty.
