The second wall painting on the south side of the front wall in cave 44 at theToyok Grottoes is generally considered to be "Brahman’s wife murdering her mother-in-law." By comparing the texts and images, this paper attempts to identify this painting as depicting King Rabbit jataka, as recorded in the Original Causality Sutra of Bodhisattva translated by Zhi Qian in the Wu Kingdom of the Three Kingdoms Period, which comes from Chapter Six on King Rabbit Jataka.
