This paper considers the Dayun Temple in the Hongyuan Valley recorded in the Book of Songs to be today’s Large-Buddha Cave of the Tiantishan Grottoes. The Song dynasty court patronized the Six-Valley Clan to renovate this temple, which was first built in the Tang dynasty, many times. The Large-Buddha Cave at the Tiantishan Grottoes should long have been called "Dayun Temple of Hongyuan Valley" during the Tang and Song dynasties.
