This paper studies the categories of dangling ornaments worn by Dunhuang ladies by examining their names and usage. The development of headgear culture among Dunhuang ladies was not only associated with their historical life, but also closely connected to changes of aesthetic taste, economic developments,cultural exchanges between ethnic groups, structures of cultural psychology, and the spiritual culture of society at different times. These are the fundamental reasons for the various temporal characteristics displayed by the headgear of Dunhuang ladies.
