The Arya Grahamatrka Dharani Sutra is a Mahayana Tantra from India of which there are currently two Chinese versions, one translated by Fa Cheng in the Tang dynasty and the other by Fa Tian in the Song dynasty. The Song dynasty version is recorded in the Tripitaka of past dynasties and the publication of the Khara-Khoto documents collected in China and Britain has provided further material for better understanding its dissemination. A few documents in Tangut of the Arya Grahamatrka Dharani Sutra have been unearthed from Khara-Khoto, but those in the Russian collection have not been published yet. Therefore, this paper can only examine, translate, interpret, and research those Tangut versions of the Arya Grahamatrka Dharani Sutra found in the Chinese and British collections to discuss which copy the Tangut version was based on and how it prevailed and spread.
