摘要
Self-interest is an important conception to establish Hobbesian line of social contract theory in political philosophy and classic framework of economics. Both of theories hold that rational choice of maximization of interests is the best strategy, thus generating optimal outcome. This paper presents two arguments to lead the conclusion that business action strives for the maximization of self-interests is morally neutral. Business action is characterized as immoral when it causes others harm, or within capability yet choosing not to help others. The first argument explicates that maximization of wisdom is the best strategy to maximize self-interest. The second argument establishes two principles founded on karma theory and the corresponding rules to cultivate wisdom, which can enhance positive value of business.
