| 摘要 | The Srīmālādevīsimhanādasūtra 勝鬘師子吼一乘大方便方廣經 (hereafter, SMS) is one of the earliest tathāgatagarbha scriptures. The exegetical literature dedicated to the text helps elucidate some important concepts concerning not only the tathāgatagarbha doctrine but also its specific theory of defilements. In this paper,I discuss the peculiar interpretations of defilements in six Chinese commentaries composed during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, focusing especially on relationship between the vāsabhūmi and the jātimarana.
Section 1 is an introduction to the theory of defilements in the SMS. Section 2 surveys the six commentaries on the SMS written during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Section 3 deals in detail with the theory of defilements by examining the concepts of vāsabhūmi and jātimarana.
The comparative analysis of these six commentaries on the SMS sheds light not only on the theory of defilements in the sūtra but also on the doctrinal developments brought by the Chinese exegetes of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. |
