從「認知語言學」談 「體認」與「認知」的差異:以《楞嚴經》卷一及《大乘入楞伽經》為依據=Exploring the Difference between “Realization” and “Cognition” from Cognitive Linguistics: Based on the Śūraṅgama Sūtra and the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra
This paper aims to explore how Buddha could guide the Buddhist cultivators to “realize” the truth, not just be satisfied with “cognizing” the truth by virtue of cognitive linguistics. This paper is structured as six sections. Section one provides a broad outline of this paper and the expected results. Section two explicates the philosophical connotations of cognitive linguistics. Section three focuses on the reasons of why to adopt Figurative languages and choose the Śūraṅgama Sūtra to develope this paper. Section four analyzes the metaphor examples in the Śūraṅgama Sūtra according to cognitive linguistics based on the philosophy of embodiment. Section five distinguishes the differences between “realization” and “cognition” and defines each of them in the light of the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra. Section six concludes that there are at least three differences between cognitive linguistics and Buddha‟s teaching. The core idea of how Buddha transforms Buddhist cultivators is to “realize” the truth, not to stagnate in “cognizing” the truth.
