Domestic and foreign academic understandings of Chinese religion are all formed in the Western discourse system. The Western understandings of Chinese religion are mainly influenced by the academic points of view of Fraser, Hegel et al.. Therefore, making reflections towards these academic points of view is the premise of constructing our own Chinese religious discourse system. The crux of the problem is taking the academic judgment as interpretation tool intentionally or unintentionally and taking category construction as cognitive way without fully knowing its limitations. To the end, we have to consciously and constantly adhere to make self-examination with the critical spirit of the philosophy, to reflect the basic paradigm of religion, and thus to promote the expansion and deepening of religion.
