In vie of the intense battle and cruel slaughter between aristocrats of the Song and Qi Dynasty for the imperial throne, he chose Buddhism to govern country in order to coordinate various relations and maintain stability of society. About his action, it contains three goals. First of all, shift governer’s attention and weaken the internal threat. Second, harass people’s recognition, destroy people’s struggle consciousness. And the last, the Buddhism’s localization development tendency promoted the union between the political power and religion.Although Xiao-Yan’s frantic promoted Buddhism’s development in China, it has accelerated the perish of the Liang Dynasty as a result.
