To obtain information about the materials and techniques of the murals of the Longxing Temple in Tongnan County, this study applied the 3D super depth-of-field microscopy, XRF, XRD and other techniques to detect the materials of these murals, the results of which showed that the base of the murals was thin bamboo slips, and the ground layers from the bottom to the top were coarse clay layer, fine clay layer and lime layer. The pigments for painting the murals were mainly the atacamite, red lead, azurite blue and other mineral pigments, and the coating of the mural was calcite(CaCO3).
