Taking advantage of the Sutras images popularly is one of the features of Su Tung-Po Poems. Except the monks, reading Buddhism classics is an important way to understand Buddhism. Because Su Tung-Po learned about Buddhism classics popularly, so he preferred parts of the Sutras. The thesis is divided into six chapters, and the main four chapters respectively discuss the connections between The Surangama Sutra,(《楞嚴經》)The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti,(《維摩詰經》) Avatamsaka Sutra,(《華嚴經》)Jingde Chuandeng Lu(《景德傳燈錄》)and Su Tung-Po Poems. The Surangama Sutra(《楞嚴經》)is unique to Buddhism by closely analyzing the human senses and using metaphors everywhere. The chapter two focuses on Su Tung-Po how to collect the elements from The Surangama Sutra to add to the poems. The chapter three researches on the connections between Su Tung-Po and The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti(《維摩詰經》)deeply impacting on Chinese lay Buddhists. The chapter four analyzes the four parts that Su Tung-Po Poems how to quote and absorb the Avatamsaka Dharma Realms conception and conduces to invisibility and exhibition. The following: (1) Infinite Pratitya-samutpada(無盡緣起), Paramanu World(微塵世界); (2) Everything Anavrti(事事無礙), all Dharma are equal(萬法平等) (3) Universal Harmony(周遍含融), Shi Xuan Anavrti(十玄無礙) (4) Follow the Dharma Realm(隨順法界), Ru Fa Jie(入法界) The chapter five focuses on the connections between Su Tung-Po Poems and Jingde Chuandeng Lu.(《景德傳燈錄》)This chapter not only explains the Jingde Chuandeng Lu how to influence the culture of the Song Dynasty, but also chooses several important subheads to display the realistic situations that Su Tung-Po Poems use Jingde Chuandeng Lu.
