The topic of the research is “The Study of the Belief and Practice of the Medicine Buddha on Mt. Lapis Lazuli in Taiwan”. It will focus on Dharma Master Tai Zhen who founded Mt. Lapis Lazuli to expound the Dharma of the Medicine Buddha. The Eastern Pure Land of Mt. Lapis Lazuli is located at Kosinga County in Nantou County By using the eastern pure land of Vaiḍūryanirbhāsa as a blueprint, Dharma Master Tai Zhen founded three systems of the Eastern Pure Land, Foling Monastery and Medicine Buddha Monastery under Mt. Lapis Lazuli to establish pure land in the realm of human beings and to spread the Buddhist Dharma throughout the world. By means of field research approach, I interview Dharma Master Tai Zhen and survey some of her disciples and believers to find out how she can fulfill the spirit of the Medicine Buddha to benefit others in the realm of human beings. As a result, I find out that the belief of the Medicine Buddha is not only to relieve the suffering and prolong the long life of human beings, but also to make progress to perfect enlightenment in the end. It follows the step of benefitting others of Bodhisattva practice to practice the belief of Medicine Buddha. Practicing the belief of Medicine Buddha, Dharma Master Tai Zhen not only surpasses her only life of small self and enhances the growth of her spiritual life, but also influences many other people to follow her steps. She has become the lighthouse of many her believers. Her personality of benefiting others and the spirit of practice will be the model of those who practice the dharma of the Medicine Buddha thereafter.
