It is totally a criticism pretended as reflection at the so-called “Buddhism Seminar” held at Wuxi, Jiangsu, 2016. The rational speculative, sincerity, benevolence advocated by “Humanistic Buddhism” differ in beliefs and values from those of Mr. Zhou Gui-hua and the like, who preach apotheosis, believe in deity and attempt to construct a “Complete Buddhism”. The two traits of Buddhism recognized by Venerable Master Yin-shun, advocate of “Humanistic Buddhism” are: “Unity of belief and reason”, “Harmony of mercy and wisdom”, which are different from the folks who are obsessed in defending the dignity of their own religious sects. From the fundamentals of religion study, Buddhism is atheism, which distinguishes itself from monotheism. If this characteristic is vague and confused with deity, the fall of Buddhism in India teaches a critical lesson to warn all Buddhists. “Complete Buddhism”, a new alienated theory of Buddhism, initiated by Mr. Zhou Gui-hua, narrows down and redefines Mahayana’s “Unity of mercy and wisdom” as “Salvation upon deity belief”, completely distorting Buddhist dharma.
