The sorting of ancient books, especially Dunhuang documents, is a very difficult fundamental academic job. At present, there are various methods, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Based on personal understanding gleaned from thirty years in the field, the author proposes his distinct opinion and presents a clear demonstration of it for academic reference or discussion.
