摘要
It has long been assumed that Jí zàng(吉藏,549-623) composed the Dà shèng xuán lùn(大乘玄論)at the final sage of his life. As its title shows, it might be seen as a sort of introduction to Mahā-yāna Buddhism, since it deals with many vital topics of Mahā-yāna Buddhism from the characteristic viewpoint of sān lùn school(三論宗). We could somehow account for the fact that Jí zàng often (may be too often!) referred, in this treatise, to the issues that he had already discussed in his earlier works. However, it seems very curious that in his treatise, the Sì lùn xuán yì(四論玄義), Huì jūn(慧均), who belongs to the same lineage as Jí zàng gives similar statements to those in the second chapter on Eight Negations(八不) of the Dà shèng xuán lùn. Such evidence suffices to pose a question to the authorship of the Dà shèng xuán lùn. I should also like to point out some problematics and characteristics of this treatise through the analysis of the concordance of its third chapter on One Vehicle(一乘義).
