In the religious pluralism and multicultural society, how does religion be modernized and attract people to engage religious affairs by propagated tactics, is a challenge to be dealt with. The research of the thesis is based on the post-war of Taiwan’s development and modernization of religion. And we try to view the issue from the perspective of propagation by Fo Gong Shan monastic order, which can tell how a traditional monastic order to be transformed and developed in our modern society. The thesis progresses in the sociology way of materialization research, literature reading and analysis. There are six chapters of the thesis which describes how the social movement changing religious beliefs and makes religions reflect the movement as well. If the traditional religion wants to be lasting, it should be shown in unique that is unfolded in the new semantic forms to find out the meaning of life. Because of the movement, the Buddhism towards to ”get moving ” and “go out ”by order’s multiple development, modernizing propagation, innovating social service, building up social ethics, internationalizing of Buddhism and exchanging of multifaiths. Because of the movement of society, Mater Shin Yun tries to build up the humanistic Buddhism which shares the same values and operation in modern society. In case of conforming to modern people’s needs, he makes good of arts, slang and moves to fit the society that can shows religious influence to the society. The master also reforms the traditional Buddhism. For example, he establishes the systems of propagating, temple architecture, business-running, financial management and administrative organization which can be followed by his disciples. Comparing to traditional Buddhism, Fo Gong Shan’s modernizing propagation appears the multiple transformation and development that is connected with society.
