In the Later Han Dynasty, the Prajna thought in Indian Buddhism was first introduced into China and clashed with the local Laozhuang culture. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the metaphysics of Lao Zhuang prevailed and scholar-officials began to talk about it freely. Because of the turbulence of the situation of Wei and Jin, scholar-officials had negative feelings. Zhi Dun discussed“Xiaoyaoyou”in his communication with famous scholars, which was the fusion of metaphysics and prajna to expatiate the new meaning of“Xiaoyaoyou”. The interaction between his metaphysics and prajna thought played a key role in the transition, which was the initial process of the sinicization of Indian Buddhism, and Zhi Dun was one of the most representative figures in the Wei and Jin metaphysics and prajna thought.
