This article aims to give a new highlight to Maitreya thoughts(Maitreyaism), which shows us a hopeful direction to new world. As described above, this study looked into the essence of Maitreyaism in the aspects of universal peaceful thoughts. A new and ideal world may come true along with ethical practices across our lives on the basis of compassionate heart. The way to set ourselves free beyond the pains from our reality In view of these essences of Maitreyaism may be clearly shown to us through popular consciousness and practices along with individual's ethical completion. It means a Buddhistic solution to change our world in agonies of pain into the pure one. In Korea, it is dominant that Maitreya religious movement has been carried on in the level of popular faith. As long as Buddhism is concerned, Koguryo Dynasty was reportedly more or less influenced by Maitreyaism from Beiwei(北魏) Dynasty in the history of China, but there has not been any further information on such historical case. On the other hand, Baekjae Dynasty hoped to make the world of Maitreya come true home. The foundation motto of Mireuksa Temple was realized by introducing the world of nāga-puṣa to Baekjae in an effort to make such world come true, as shown in Maitreya Sūtra. It indicates their traditional belief in Maitreya in this world. For Shilla Dynasty, the belief in Maitreya was characterized by thoughts related to Maitreya entering nirvana, i.e. our belief in Maitreya and our efforts to seek after truth may make our own body become Maitreya, and even Maitreya appeared as a Hwarang. It idealizes the ‘personal embodiment' of Maitreya. Of course, it implies that Hwarang played a major role in culturing Shilla's people to combine with each other in social and political level. In the end of Shilla Dynasty, there was an extensive belief in Maitreya descended in this world around common people under the unstable social reality in those days, who had a hope that a new and ideal world would come out. Just before Koryo Dynasty, King Gungyae of Taebong Dynasty took advantage of those wishes common people had.
