河北古寺院調查與歷史文物遺跡保護:以邯鄲爆台寺、月愛寺為例=A Research of Ancient Temples in Hebei and the Protection of Historical Relics and Sites: Taking Baotai Temple and Yue'ai Temple in Handan for Example
Handan lies in the south-west of Hebei, it has a long history. Buddhism was very prosperous in this area from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. As a consequence, there are many Buddhist buildings and cultural relics in Handan. Baotai Temple and Yue'ai Temple are two ancient temples in Handan suburb. They had been abandoned and rebuilt for many times in history. After the Reform and Opening-up, with the help of the Buddhist Association of Handan, the money to rebuild the temples has been raised after several twists and turns, and now they have begun to take shape. These ancient temples alongside with the cultural relics in them are valuable materials for researching history and culture of Hebei, they are also the foundations of the development of Hebei Buddhism culture tourism. This article takes Baotai Temple and Yue'ai Temple in Handan for example, using methods like field investigation and visiting insiders to research the temples' history, reconstruction conditions, spread of the sects and cultural relics, and discussing the problems of temples' exist based on the current situation of the temples and materials getting from field investigate.
