摘要近年來台灣有越來越多宗教徒,宣稱具有與神明直接溝通並得到授法的經驗,此現象可稱為「通靈現象」,其特殊處是信仰者不必透過乩童或靈媒便可與神佛溝通,這些人很多是通靈者、靈乩、靈修者或自稱修道人。神佛授法是宗教人的一種特殊且內在的神秘經驗。雖然是一種越來越普遍的宗教經驗,但是這不是一般人所能體驗的宗教經驗。
花蓮是台灣最後一塊淨土,也是很多靈修者匯集的地方。藉地緣之便,花蓮地區的訪問案例也比較多。本論文透過花蓮地區的幾個訪問案例,來探討通靈現象的神秘經驗的本質,以及受訪者與神佛貼身遭逢的特殊經驗,對於個人生命發展的影響。五個研究案例中有四個是神壇的主持人,只有一位未設神壇。他們與神佛接觸的因緣及背景各不相同,但是都具有強烈的淑世性格。其中有兩位非常具有傳承的想法,想將這些由神佛所教導的神秘知識傳承下去。他們在生命成長過程中,產生一些困頓,如婚姻、事業或是身體病痛等,在困頓當中接觸到神佛、感應到神佛的力量,他們雖然經過內心掙扎的階段,最後都成為神明的門徒,接受神明的教誨與指導、啟示,接受神佛的指令與任務並視為天命,不但自己脫困了,而且還成了為神明效勞辦事的人。

Recently many sincere believers of folk religion in Taiwan claim that they
can communicate with gods or deities and they have received teaching by gods or
deities. This phenomenon of direct communication with gods or deities is specified by no need of traditional shamans ( like tang–ki ) or other kind of spirit mediums if anyone searches for ritual helps. These religious people maybe called
as tong–ling–jen(通靈人) or ling–chi(靈乩), or they may call themselves
as sho–dao–jen(修道人). Direct communication with and taught by gods or
deities is a kind core and inner religious experiences, although it is getting popular
in Taiwan, it remains as rare experiences which ordinary people may never have.
Hualien is the last pure land in Taiwan. Many religious people like to come
here for spiritual elevation. Because I have a teaching job in Hualien, many of
my interviewees are resided in Hualien. It is aimed in this article that the mythical experiences of these religious people can be understood by examining my five
interviewees in Hualien. I also intend to explore how their personal life has been
influenced by their special and close encounter with gods or deities. Among five
cases, four of them are the owner of private shrines. The reasons and situations
of their contact with gods or deities are different individually, yet most of them
have strong character in helping with others. Two of them have strong intention to
transmit their magical and healing power to others. Generally speaking, they tend
to have some difficulties or problems at certain period of their life, such as marriage problem, career problem, or health problem, it is usually the critical time that
they have encountered with gods or deities and experienced the magical power
from gods or deities. It is often the case that they would have passed some period
of mental struggle until they have definitely decided to become the disciple of
their god or deity. Then, they would begin to take lessons, instructions, and revelations from gods or deities, usually they also receive orders and tasks from gods or
deities, and concern these orders and tasks as their “heavenly mission.” By doing
so, they not only get out their difficulties in their personal life, they can also help
with others by the ritual methods or magical power they have learned from gods
or deities.
