불교무형문화유산의 문화콘텐츠 개발과 활용 방향에 대한 연구 : 월정사 탑돌이를 중심으로=A Study on the Directions for Developing and Utilizing the Cultural Contents ofIntangible Buddhist Cultural Assets: With a focus on Woljeongsa Tapdori

摘要
본 논의는 무형문화유산으로서의 월정사 탑돌이를 불교문화콘텐츠로 개발하고 이를 다양한 분야에서 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 타진해보는 데 있다. 아울러 복합적인 활용을 염두에 두고 문화콘텐츠로 개발하고 적극 활용하며, 나아가 오대산 월정사의 브랜드로 이끌어낼 수 있는 전망을 세우는 데 이바지하고자 한다. 논자는 본 논의를 통해 월정사의 탑돌이를 문화콘텐츠로 제작할 수 있는 기본적인 기획의 방향을 논의하였다. 첫째, 개발을 목적으로 하는 원천 자료를 채취하는 것이다. 이때 탑돌이 관련 역사, 관련 인물의 이야기, 탑돌이 시연 및 등장인물, 복식, 도구 등의 사진촬영과 음향, 음원 채취 및 동영상 촬영 등이 필요하다. 또한 채취된 자료를 아카이브화 한다. 둘째, 1차 채취한 원천자료를 가공하여 이를 보다 업그레이드된 형태의 공정을 거쳐서 스토리텔링과 이미지트루기를 결합하여 탑돌이 공연의 표준화, 만화, 2D, 3D 애니메이션, 2D, 3D 캐릭터 등을 개발한다. 셋째, 콘텐츠 활용 방안에서는 1, 2차에 걸쳐 개발된 콘텐츠를 토대로 복합적인 활용을 이끌어 낸다. 이렇게 개발된 콘텐츠는 첫째 문화관광에 스토리텔링의 기본적인 요소로 활용이 가능하고, 둘째 U-Tour의 콘텐츠로 활용이 가능하며, 셋째 템플스테이에 적극적으로 활용이 가능하고, 넷째 공연콘텐츠로도 충분히 활용이 가능하다는 것을 밝혔다. 본 논의에서 불교의 무형문화유산을 어떻게 콘텐츠화하여 이를 활용할 것인가에 대한 사례로 월정사탑돌이에 대해 논의하였다. 아울러 이러한 작업들을 통해 불교가 지닌 다양한 문화자원이 올바른 활용의 단초를 여는 모델이 되기를 기대한다.
This study set out to develop Woljeongsa Tapdori(turning around stupa), which is an intangible cultural asset, as Buddhist cultural content and explore the possibility of utilizing the contents in many different fields. It also aimed to contribute to making the brand of Odaesan Woljeongsa as well as to developing and utilizing it as a cultural contents based on multipurpose uses. The investigator first discussed the directions for the basic plan to make Woljeongsa Tapdori as cultural contents; first, the origin data of Woljeongsa Tapdori need to be gathered for the purpose of development. Needed in the process are the history of Tapdori, the stories of the concerned figures, demonstration and characters of Tapdori, pictures of costumes and props, recording of sound and sound sources, and videotaping. The gathered data will be put in an archive; secondly, the primary origin data will be combined with storytelling and imageturgy as part of the upgrading process to produce the standardized Tapdori performance, cartoons, 2D and 3D animations, and 2D and 3D characters; and finally, the contents will be put to multipurpose uses based on the primary and secondary contents results. The contents developed in such a process can have various uses; first, it can be used as a basic element in cultural tourism storytelling; secondly, it can be part of the U-tour contents; thirdly, it can be put to active use in temple stay; and finally, it has full possibility as performance contents. The study discussed Woljeongsa Tapdori as a case to demonstrate how intangible Buddhist cultural assets can be made into contents and utilized. Those efforts made in the study will hopefully present a model to open the door to the right uses of diverse Buddhist cultural resources.
