The 20th Symposium on the Theory and Practice of the Teachings of Dharma Master Yin Shun has concluded in Tzu Chi Foundation (Hualien, Taiwan) in 2022. It has been 20 years since the start of the Symposiums and it is remarkable and tricky to hold this kind of Symposium for a long period of time. The Symposiums to commemorate Master Yin Shun have never downsized their scale and their subjects are always associated with the issues of the day. The main support to the organization of the Symposiums has been from the sangha and the students of Buddhist Hong shi College and Hong Shi Buddhist Cultural and Educational Foundation, led by Venerable Chao Hwei and Venerable Shing Kuan. The Department of Religion and Culture at Hsuan Chuang University became one of the organizers in 2005 and Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation joined the organizers in 2021. The Symposium was held in the title of the International Symposium of Applied Ethics in 2005, Life Conservation Association was among the organizers. This article is aimed at reviewing the Symposiums. The literature and the data are from the website of Buddhist Hong Shi College, which highlights that Hong Shi Buddhist Cultural and Educational Foundation has met its accountability. The article will be divided into two parts: the first part is of the content and the financial statements of the Symposiums; the latter is of the specificity of the Symposiums. Nevertheless, the analysis and the influence of the Symposiums will belong to another article of mine in the near future.
